Paul L Jones
Paul L Jones is an African/American male, the first male in his family to graduate college. He was born (the third of six children) and reared, primarily in a monolithic/segregated environment by parents of limited education and means. As the son of tenant farmers, he performed manual farm labor at a very young age. In the late 1950’s and early 1960’s, he attended and graduated from segregated public schools in North Carolina. He attended a Historically Black College or University (HBCU), Elizabeth City State University, graduating with honors in 1968.
He is the first African/American to begin at the basic entry level and rise to the senior executive level [Senior Executive Service (SES)] at the U.S. General Accounting Office, now U.S Government Accountability Office (GAO).
He received a BS Degree with honors in Mathematics from Elizabeth City State University, and a MS Degree in Public Administration from George Washington University.
